A pioneer and the man who foresaw the considerable potential of the Human Hair Industry, Sri Madupalli Mohana Gupta is an unparalleled entrepreneur and philanthropist. He was born in 1945 in Eluru, Andhra Pradesh to Sri Krishna Murthy and Smt. Satyavathamma. After graduating from Sir C.R. Reddy College, Eluru, his drive to start a new business saw him carefully evaluating the market potential of exporting human hair. As a result, he founded M/s. Gupta Enterprises in the year 1974. The company which began with limited capital now has grown into a multinational enterprise with a turnover of multiple crores.
As his business acumen skyrocketed, Mr. Gupta was able to participate and preside over multiple trade delegations to countries such as the USA, UK, Germany, France and Japan. He advised the Government of India about the potential of promoting various products from our country. Besides being a highly accomplished entrepreneur, he is also a philanthropist and interested in the promotion of literature, science, arts, humanitarian services and other intellectual pursuits. To promote and carry out the said activities, the Gupta Foundation was instituted in the year 1989.

Sri Gupta is one of the leading exporters of a variety of products which include Human Hair, Sandal Wood, Handicrafts and Cotton Swabs, Textiles. The Government of India has recognised the Gupta Group as an “Export House” and has been confering Sri Gupta with the “Best Exporter Award” continuously for the past Twenty years. He has also been receiving the State Award for Exports from the Government of Andhra Pradesh. He also received the “Kamal Patra” Award from Indian Jaycees in recognition of his contribution of our contry’s exports. With this extremely successful ongoing business career on one hand Sri Gupta thought it fit to establish the Gupta Foundation through which he could honour stalwarts in various field.
